Cove CC to proud to confirm that we have once again retained our ECB Clubmark accredition.
Reviewed every three years, the Clubmark accreditation also means we are recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping with this years re-accreditation, in particular Kerry Coughlan.

Cove Cricket Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Chairman, Life Member and all-round club stalwart William Geoffrey Owen (Geoff) on 5th February 2024.

Geoff was a true gentleman, always smiling and had time for every single person who walked through the doors of Cove Cricket Club.

During his playing days, Geoff played on Saturdays, Sundays and on every club tour possible. He loved the game for all it brings, competitiveness, fun and friendship. In his later years, Geoff always spoke fondly of his time in the third team slip cordon with Frank and Tony, and whilst it was great fun, he was never sure he caught many!

Geoff was a central figure of the Friday night scene, and everyone from that era will remember him and his crew, propping up the bar until all hours, drinking his favourite brandy. He was a wonderful people person and related so well to everyone across the generations.

Geoff did so many wonderful things for the club, including leading the executive committee as Chairman during the refurbishment of the pavilion, after the infamous ’87 hurricane.

Geoff will be sorely missed by everyone at the club and will be remembered by many players due to his loud shouts of ‘Come on Cove!’ when he felt the teams needed a bit of a lift.

Our thoughts and love go out to Joan, Richie, Heb, Karen and all the family at this difficult time.
Details of Geoff’s funeral will follow once known.
