I would personally like to thank all our volunteer teams, to many too mention, fantastic team work everyone.

Many for the first  time helping us and some  had travelled to support the teams tonight.  Also, Helen Price and team from RJA Security, and of course Alex and Jo from Horizon Fireworks and Pyrotechnics, wow what a show.

We had so much good feedback from people on their way home tonight about having had a wonderful evening and the brillant display.

Finally my thanks to all those members of the community who purchased their tickets and came and supported us this evening,  we hope to see you next year.

The George Andrew Performance Programme

Cove Cricket Club is very proud to announce the introduction of the programme for 2023/24.

On behalf of Cove Cricket Club we would like to thank George Andrew's Family for the kind donation in his memory to help us run this project over the next coming years.

George was a former President, cricketer, and friend. The kind donation from the family will enhance the ability of the young boys and girls on the Performance Programme, giving them the best opportunity to fulfil their potential within the game that brought so much joy to George.

The programme has been designed by a group of coaches and all players received a personal letter of invitation from the club, detailing the fantastic opportunity they have. As a former Headteacher, George realised the importance of sport in the development of young people, and always enjoyed seeing young talent progress their games and grasp the opportunities it can provide for them. George would be hoping that the players can do the same in this instance.

George was a very kind man and very highly thought of at Cove CC. We would like to thank George's Son and Daughter, Mark and Christine for helping us get the project off the ground with their kind support.

Natasha Marisa 100 Ball Invitational

Yesterday we came together as a club as we have demonstrated before on big events at Cove CC

We opened our door to the cricket family across Hampshire and afar and hopefully raised a lot to try and help bring some joy and comfort to others less fortunate than ourselves as Tasha had asked us all to do.

I am immensely proud of the team work at Cove CC which was months in the planning and to see it result in a sometimes serious,  fun, and enjoyable 100 ball cricket day in Tasha's name and it shows we can all achieve so much. So thank you everyone at Cove CC.

Also thank you to all the players, Team Managers, Team organisers, officials and the wonderful people and families that turned out and supported this day and our club. We hope you enjoyed your day and thanks for your support, generosity and of course your time.

To those sponsors, of the day, Shield Security, Moonwalk Flooring, and to the Club itself and many more.

Also all those individuals who gave on the day to the cause, thank you for your time and generous donations supporting Tasha , TYAC and  the Club, we greatly appreciate everything and hope to see you all in 2024 for the next Tasha Day.

Karen and Ian will reveal in a few days the final total, when we have calculated the final figures,  and I expect in  excess of £7k.

Once again thank you.

Kind Regards

In addition, security lighting and electricity are being installed, for both the Nets and Tasha's Shack.

We hope that the continued investment in the grounds and infrastructure will help enhance the experience for both players and visitors alike.

'Hula' thought it!

Cove's W10 Ladies took part in Hartley Wintney CC's tournament on the 2nd July.

Apparently they took home plenty of awards, not all of them for the cricket though!

Look out for news of our own W10 tournament, which Cove CC will host later this summer.

New look Saturday '4's make debut

Our Saturday 4th XI have taken on a new look this season, under new skipper Martin Cure.

Not content with just taking on the mantle of captain, Martin has been instrumental in the recruitment of a number of new players, many of whom have debuted in the past weeks.

The 4's have also historically been an opportunity to give our younger players a taste of 'Adult' cricket.

Our best wishes to Martin and the team

for the rest of 2023!

Cove CC welcomes Renaldo Holder

Cove CC would like to welcome Renaldo 'Nally' Holder as our overseas player for 2023!

Nally hails from Barbados, home of such West Indian greats as Desmond Haynes, Gordon Greenidge and of course Gary Sobers.

He's also no stranger to English cricket, having played in England for a few summers. (so he'll be used to the rain!)

We wish him well for the season and here's hoping there are plenty of wickets (and runs) to celebrate!

Please say hello when you see him.

Good luck Nally!
