The Grounds
The main ground, at the end of Grasmere Road , was first played on in 1972. The Clubhouse has been through a number of changes as the club has grown. This latest reincarnation was completed in 1999. The changing facilities and shower rooms for both home and away teams are on the first floor with access to the Players balcony.
On the ground floor there is a large bar and function room together with a well equipped kitchen for preparing Player's teas for which the club has an excellent reputation.
The club is available for private and company hire and is large enough to stage events for up to 100 people.
This can be increased with the use of a
marquee on the outfield adjoining the clubhouse. If you're interested, please contact Val Ashton
on 01252 678 874 or email us at info@covecc.co.uk.
The main ground plays has all levels of games from colts to adult cricket and has had the honour of hosting many Hampshire Representative Team games from u 14 ladies to u 19 2-day matches. It is maintained by a dedicated team of paid and volunteer ground staff preparing pitches, outfield and the surrounds.
An example of the recent expansion in club facilities is the necessity of providing our second ground, adjacent to the main ground. The square was laid in 2000, by the club, and first played on in 2003. Regular
Academy and 5th team games are held on this ground on a Saturday along with colts Players on a Sunday. Rushmoor Borough Council, who own the playing field, plan to build a new pavilion on this ground
during 2008. It is expected that this will be available for the 2009
season.
With an additional side taking the field in 2008,
Cove has secured the facilities of Cody Gate, Qinetiq (Pyestock) for the
3rd XI.
