Champions of Thames Valley League, 2011!
Cove Cricket Club were confirmed as champions of Thames Valley Division 1 on the last day of the 2011 season. After being top of the table since the first week of the season, no one can deny that the last weekend's hard fought draw against local rivals Finchampstead and Basingstoke's defeat to Amersham, meant that enough points were secured to begin a heavy night of celebrations.
It really was a great team effort, with ex Hampshire professional, Chris Benham leading the way with 750 runs. With 11 wins and only 1 defeat all season, captain Andy Mcneill ensured a competitive team played to its potential and thoroughly deserved promotion to the Home Counties Premier League.
2012 will see the club playing at its highest level, since moving from the Southern Premier League back in 2000.
