Chris Benham returns to Cove Cricket Club!
We are really pleased and excited to advise all members that Cove Cricket Club has secured the services of Chris Benham, for the forthcoming season. Chris has been a professional cricketer with Hampshire for the past 10 years. For those of you who don’t know Chris, we are actually welcoming him back to Cove, having played for us prior to joining the county circuit.
At the age of 27, Chris’s experience at the top level will be a fantastic asset to our club, both from his playing capabilities and also his ability to provide some individual and group coaching for the many colts we have and some of our seniors!
Over the years Chris has played alongside the likes of Shane Warne, Shaun Udal, Dimi Mascaranes, Chris Tremlett, Sean Ervine, Alan Mullally and many others, so he will be helping play a key role to push our club forward.
Chris will also be helping out with some of the cricket social functions we are running across the season. He will be presenting the colts trophies at their end of season awards evening and will also be speaking at our “summer ball”.
We are looking to leverage Chris’s return as much as possible re advertising and sponsorship. If any members know of companies or indeed your own company that may want to sponsor the club on the back of this or buy an advertising board etc please do contact either Troy Tomsett or Ian Crompton.
We will be advertising Chris’s return in the local press over the next month or so and will be updating our website, all aimed at raising our club profile, to attract new members and hopefully secure some sponsorship interest.
