The Cove Cricket Club Academy was started in 2007 with the objective of raising the long term playing standards within the club.  The objectives of the Academy are to: assist in the production of Cove Cricket Club 1st XI players of the future through a structured coaching programme during the winter and summer months. develop a process to improve the quality of our young players and to aid retention into senior sides within the club. The Cove Cricket Club Academy will provide the young players selected to attend the opportunity to work with experienced and qualified coaches in small groups to improve their technical ability, mental strengths, and tactical awareness along with fitness and lifestyle changes. The club’s playing ambitions are controlled by the quality of player emerging from the youth section and in order to raise the playing standards the club have recognised the need to increase the level of coaching players require in order to attain that standard. The Academy will play in Division 8 of the Morrants Thames Valley Cricket League on a Saturday to provide the older players the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the longer game and ability to play at that level. The need to provide a structure, controlled entry into senior cricket will benefit all the players in the long term as well as provide the club with potential 1st XI players of the future.
